Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept my insurance coverage?
+
Our practice accepts many insurance plans, such as Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), United Concordia's Tricare, and private insurance, like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, and United Healthcare. If your plan isn’t listed or you have questions about your coverage, call our office.
Do you accept Medicaid?
+
Yes! We accept Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), and United Concordia's Tricare.
What should I bring to my appointment?
+
Always bring a photo ID and, if you plan to use insurance, your insurance card. You will also need to provide personal information for each patient receiving treatment, including their birthday, and contact information.
How do I help my child prepare for their first visit?
+
Do your best to communicate with your child before their visit. It’s helpful to explain that the dentist is there to help them. It can be helpful to walk your child through an imaginary visit at home or to read books or watch videos about visiting the dentist. Often, bringing a small toy or stuffed animal to hold during the visit helps children to feel more comfortable. If you are nervous, try to set a good example for your child so they don’t pick up and reflect your attitude.
What will my child’s visit include?
+
Your child’s visit will most likely include a cleaning, checkup, x-rays, and instructions for ongoing care. If further treatment is needed, the dentist will discuss it with you before proceeding. Talk to a member of our staff if you have specific questions about your child’s treatment plan.
How much should I expect my visit to cost?
+
Many dental insurance plans cover preventative care completely, but you may be responsible for a co-pay or other costs. Talk to our office staff for an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs.
What should I do while my child sees the dentist?
+
Please plan to remain on site during your child’s visit. You may wait in the reception area or stay with your child in the treatment room. If you need help deciding where to wait, talk to a member of our staff.
Is Franklin Dental accepting new patients?
+
Yes! Make an appointment today.
What if my appointment costs more than I can afford to pay?
+
Our staff can help you understand your options for payments. If your visit costs more than you can afford to pay at once, you may be a good candidate for Resolution Dental, CareCredit or other assistance.
