We are also proud to have a Periodontist on staff, Leroy Taylor III, DDS. Dr. Taylor was born and raised in New Jersey. Leroy received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, class of 1979. After receiving several honors, including induction into KAU fraternity, and the Freeman Hardy Prostho award. Dr. Taylor graduated in the top 15% of his class from Howard University in Washington DC.

After receiving his DDS, Leroy attended a National Health Service Corps residency in Dallas Texas where he was afforded great oral pathology opportunities at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Taylor served as the team leader during his stay in which he coordinated and supervised the activities of an MD, two nurse practitioners, several social workers, and a complete line of support staff.

After leaving Dallas Leroy returned to N.J. and received his certificate in Periodontology from UMDNJ. During Dr. Taylor’s post-graduate program he received extensive training in implantology. Leroy continued at the dental school for several years after receiving his certificate, and functioned as an assistant clinical professor. He has stayed active an din touch with many of the faculty there and has maintained close proximity to much of the cutting edge technology that we so need in our community today.

Some of the services Dr. Taylor performs are:

· Crown Lengthening – single and multiple abutments.
· Ridge Augmentation – previously extracted sites and sites where extraction is to be
  anticipated (to prevent significant ridge resorption).
· Guided Tissue Regeneration – both with membranes and cellular directives, ie.
  Emdogain.
· Osseous Grafting – multitude of purposes.
· Mucogingival Treatments – especially for root coverage.
· Implantology – all branemark and non – Braranemark compatible through 3-I (implant innovations)
· Endodontic/Periodontic evaluations for possible concomitant therapy. These therapies may include retro & orthograde root repair 
  treatments with MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) for root perforation or resorption correction.
